Wow, I have been a very bad blogger. I have just been MIA a bit from
being online except for Facebook and TB, and even those two I have been
less active on.
My big project lately, other than
trying to get pregnant (Oh did I mention my last cycle only lasted 19
days?! WTF is up with THAT?), is my house. We decided it was important
to get our back area turned into a proper usable space. It used to look
like this :
View from the driveway. See all that Gravel? |
Other Side. Less Gravel, but a ton of pine needles. |
Back Area. More Gravel. Eww. | | | |
So the First order of business was to level the back area, minus a bit from one corner and the smaller side of the house, because that will be gated off later and a shed added. We then put a thin layer of sand down for drainage and additional leveling.
The ugly back corner there will have a shed. |
Come to find out we did OK leveling it away from the house, but not such
a good job making it perfectly smooth. OOPS. Live and Learn. C then built me planter boxes and I filled them with vegetable plants.
Finally, we hired an out of work construction guy to help us build a fence and we are adding furniture, solar lighting, and other planters and accent pieces.

In Progress, Street View. |

More in progress |
Are we done yet? |
Yes! We are! |
So relieved (And hot) |
Now we have these, and I am adding more. I didn't take more pictures of the finished back area because it's not finished and we still have a pile of lumber.
